Linkylea festival is a small family music festival in the heart of rural East Lothian set up to raise money for disadvantaged children and young adults in Gwalior, India.
Now in its 11th year, the Linkylea Festival has been a resounding success raising over £35,000. We have a diverse range of music, camping, BBQ, bar, face-painting, childrens’ tents, craft stalls and much more.
Linkylea Festival is located in a field in the heart of rural East Lothian and is a small quirky festival set up in 2006 by sisters Bonny and Flora Squair and the team of Linkylea helpers, to raise money for impoverished children in India.
The bulk of the money raised so far has gone towards the building and maintaining of Snehalaya (‘Home with Love’) an Orphanage which is situated in one of the poorest parts of India, and has more than 50 children and young adults, many of whom have learning and physical disabilities. The majority have been abandoned at railway stations or found wandering the streets of Gwalior.
This year’s festival was held on the 11-12 September and a fantastic time was had by all. Over £8,250 was raised thanks to the hard work of our trustees Bonny and Fiona ( our trustees), Callum Easter and a host of lovely volunteers.
